"What
it
does
this
bible
phrase
mean,
and
why
did
Jesus
weep?"
John
11:1-57
1
Now
a
certain
man
was
sick,
named
Lazarus,
of
Bethany,
the
town
of
Mary
and
her
sister
Martha.
2
(It
was
that
Mary
which
anointed
the
Lord
with
ointment,
and
wiped
his
feet
with
her
hair,
whose
brother
Lazarus
was
sick.)
3
Therefore
his
sisters
sent
unto
him,
saying,
Lord,
behold,
he
whom
thou
lovest
is
sick.
4
When
Jesus
heard
that,
he
said,
This
sickness
is
not
unto
death,
but
for
the
glory
of
God,
that
the
Son
of
God
might
be
glorified
thereby.
5
Now
Jesus
loved
Martha,
and
her
sister,
and
Lazarus.
6
When
he
had
heard
therefore
that
he
was
sick,
he
abode
two
days
still
in
the
same
place
where
he
was.
7
Then
after
that
saith
he
to
his
disciples,
Let
us
go
into
Judaea
again.
8
His
disciples
say
unto
him,
Master,
the
Jews
of
late
sought
to
stone
thee;
and
goest
thou
thither
again?
This
question,
the
doubt
within
the
disciples,
would
have
been
enough
to
make
YAHSHUA
weep.
HE
had
been
with
these
disciples
for
about
3.5
years,
and
still
yet,
after
all
the
miracles
they
witnessed
which
HE
had
done,
they
still
were
fearful.
John
11:
9
Jesus
answered,
Are
there
not
twelve
hours
in
the
day?
If
any
man
walk
in
the
day,
he
stumbleth
not,
because
he
seeth
the
light
of
this
world.
10
But
if
a
man
walk
in
the
night,
he
stumbleth,
because
there
is
no
light
in
him.
11
These
things
said
he:
and
after
that
he
saith
unto
them,
Our
friend
Lazarus
sleepeth;
but
I
go,
that
I
may
awake
him
out
of
sleep.
12
Then
said
his
disciples,
Lord,
if
he
sleep,
he
shall
do
well.
13
Howbeit
Jesus
spake
of
his
death:
but
they
thought
that
he
had
spoken
of
taking
of
rest
in
sleep.
14
Then
said
Jesus
unto
them
plainly,
Lazarus
is
dead.
15
And
I
am
glad
for
your
sakes
that
I
was
not
there,
to
the
intent
ye
may
believe;
nevertheless
let
us
go
unto
him.
Again,
the
disciples
are
not
quite
understanding,
even
after
3.5
years
of
infallible
proofs
and
instruction.
Would
this
not
cause
a
Teacher,
The
MASTER,
to
weep?
John
11:
16
Then
said
Thomas,
which
is
called
Didymus,
unto
his
fellowdisciples,
Let
us
also
go,
that
we
may
die
with
him.
Alas,
poor
Thomas.
He
did
not
quite
understand,
as
yet.
John
11:
17
Then
when
Jesus
came,
he
found
that
he
had
lain
in
the
grave
four
days
already.
18
Now
Bethany
was
nigh
unto
Jerusalem,
about
fifteen
furlongs
off:
19
And
many
of
the
Jews
came
to
Martha
and
Mary,
to
comfort
them
concerning
their
brother.
20
Then
Martha,
as
soon
as
she
heard
that
Jesus
was
coming,
went
and
met
him:
but
Mary
sat
still
in
the
house.
21
Then
said
Martha
unto
Jesus,
Lord,
if
thou
hadst
been
here,
my
brother
had
not
died.
Was
this
doubt
within
Martha???
Was
she
blaming
YAHSHUA
for
her
brothers
death?
Yes,
and
No.
"if
thou
hadst
been
here,
my
brother
had
not
died."
She
did
not
understand
that
her
brother
had
need
to
die
an
earthly
flesh
death.
John
11:
22
But
I
know,
that
even
now,
whatsoever
thou
wilt
ask
of
God,
God
will
give
it
thee.
There
is
her
faith.
"whatsoever
thou
wilt
ask
of
God,
God
will
give
it
thee"
John
11:
23
Jesus
saith
unto
her,
Thy
brother
shall
rise
again.
24
Martha
saith
unto
him,
I
know
that
he
shall
rise
again
in
the
resurrection
at
the
last
day.
Was
Lazarus
in
this
earthly
tomb?
Martha
did
not
understand,
for
she
said,
"I
know
that
he
shall
rise
again
in
the
resurrection
at
the
last
day."
His
earthly
flesh
body
had
been
laid
there.
But,
Lazarus
(his
soul
and
spirit)
was
not
left
in
the
tomb.
2
Cor
5:6-8
6
Therefore
we
are
always
confident,
knowing
that,
whilst
we
are
at
home
in
the
body,
we
are
absent
from
the
Lord:
7
(For
we
walk
by
faith,
not
by
sight:)
8
We
are
confident,
I
say,
and
willing
rather
to
be
absent
from
the
body,
and
to
be
present
with
the
Lord.
(KJV)
John
11:
25
Jesus
said
unto
her,
I
am
the
resurrection,
and
the
life:
he
that
believeth
in
me,
though
he
were
dead,
yet
shall
he
live:
26
And
whosoever
liveth
and
believeth
in
me
shall
never
die.
Believest
thou
this?
Who
is
"the
resurrection"
and
"and
the
life"?
"he
that
believeth
in
me,
though
he
were
dead,
yet
shall
he
live"
The
earthly
flesh
body
of
Lazarus
had
expired,
but
Lazarus
was
alive.
He
had
a
change
of
address,
from
his
earthly
flesh
container
to
his
abode
in
the
2nd
Heavenly
dimensional
'house',
wherein
his
souls
and
spirit
reside.
John
11:
27
She
saith
unto
him,
Yea,
Lord:
I
believe
that
thou
art
the
Christ,
the
Son
of
God,
which
should
come
into
the
world.
She
knows
that
HE
is
the
"the
resurrection"
and
"and
the
life",
but
her
mind/spirit
still
was
not
quite
comprehending
the
fullness
of
this.
She
said,
"I
believe
that
thou
art
the
Christ,
the
Son
of
God,
which
should
come
into
the
world."
Yet,
she
was
in
need
of
physical
proof,
infallible
proof.
To
"believe"
includes
"faith".
What
is
"faith"?
Heb
11:1
1
Now
faith
is
the
substance
of
things
hoped
for,
the
evidence
of
things
not
seen.
(KJV)
This
still
leaves
room
in
one's
mind
for
doubt
or
a
lack
of
understanding.
Did
she
say
to
HIM,
"I
know
for
a
fact,
without
doubt
and
without
reservation,
You
are
The
CHRIST,
"the
resurrection"
and
"and
the
life"?
No,
but
she
does
love
HIM,
for
she
"believes".
John
11:
28
And
when
she
had
so
said,
she
went
her
way,
and
called
Mary
her
sister
secretly,
saying,
The
Master
is
come,
and
calleth
for
thee.
29
As
soon
as
she
heard
that,
she
arose
quickly,
and
came
unto
him.
30
Now
Jesus
was
not
yet
come
into
the
town,
but
was
in
that
place
where
Martha
met
him.
31
The
Jews
then
which
were
with
her
in
the
house,
and
comforted
her,
when
they
saw
Mary,
that
she
rose
up
hastily
and
went
out,
followed
her,
saying,
She
goeth
unto
the
grave
to
weep
there.
That
which
these
"Jews",
that
were
there
had
said,
was
in
error:
"She
goeth
unto
the
grave
to
weep
there.".
She
was
not
going
to
"the
grave",
but
to
"the
life",
YAHSHUA,
JESUS
CHRIST.
John
11:
32
Then
when
Mary
was
come
where
Jesus
was,
and
saw
him,
she
fell
down
at
his
feet,
saying
unto
him,
Lord,
if
thou
hadst
been
here,
my
brother
had
not
died.
Alike
unto
her
sister,
Martha,
Mary
said,
"Lord,
if
thou
hadst
been
here,
my
brother
had
not
died".
John
11:
33
When
Jesus
therefore
saw
her
weeping,
and
the
Jews
also
weeping
which
came
with
her,
he
groaned
in
the
spirit,
and
was
troubled,
CHRIST
was
not
altogether
happy
with
these
people.
This
"he
groaned
in
the
spirit,
and
was
troubled"
means
that
he
was
agitated,
disappointed,
and
rather
disgusted
with
them.
How
many
miracles
would
be
needed
for
the
people
to
understand?
Did
they
not
truly
know
HIM?
Were
they
so
wrapped
up
in
the
things
of
the
flesh,
that
they
could
not
think
beyond
the
grave?
Was
their
"faith"
solely
based
upon
that
which
they
could
see
with
their
own
flesh
eyes?
And,
even
then,
many
who
were
shown
infallible
proofs,
miracles,
and
saw
the
prophesy
being
fulfilled
before
their
very
eyes,
would
still
yet
have
doubts.
John
11:
34
And
said,
Where
have
ye
laid
him?
They
said
unto
him,
Lord,
come
and
see.
John
11:
35
Jesus
wept.
Why
did
HE
weep?
Wouldn't
you?
If
you
had
spent
3.5
years
with
a
group
of
people,
leading
them,
guiding
them,
teaching
them,
showing
them
YHVH'S
HOLY
Word
and
Plan,
and
then
see
them
still
yet
without
true
understanding,
would
you
not
also
weep?
YAHSHUA
was
not
weeping
for
HIMSELF,
nor
was
HE
weeping
for
Lazarus.
HE
"wept"
because
of
the
people.
He
wept
because
they
did
not
understand.
John
11:
36
Then
said
the
Jews,
Behold
how
he
loved
him!
Yes,
YAHSHUA
loved
Lazarus.
But,
HIS
tears
were
not
as
these
"Jews"
had
said.
HE
wept
not
for
Lazarus.
John
11:
37
And
some
of
them
said,
Could
not
this
man,
which
opened
the
eyes
of
the
blind,
have
caused
that
even
this
man
should
not
have
died?
Here
they
go
again.
Doubts
and
a
bit
of
a
tone
of
accusation
against
YAHSHUA,
came
from
"some
of
them",
"the
Jews"
(these
people
of
Judaea:
not
all
necessarily
of
the
tribe
of
Judah).
Yes,
YAHSHUA
could
prevent
'an
earthly
flesh
death',
but
earthly
flesh
is
nothing.
It
was
not
in
YHVH'S
Plan
that
YAHSHUA
was
to
prevent
the
death
of
Lazarus'
earthly
flesh.
John
11:
38
Jesus
therefore
again
groaning
in
himself
cometh
to
the
grave.
It
was
a
cave,
and
a
stone
lay
upon
it.
Again,
"Jesus"
was
"therefore
again
groaning
in
himself
"
as
he
approached
the
sepulchre,
the
place
where
Lazarus'
earthly
flesh
body
had
been
laid.
John
11:
39
Jesus
said,
Take
ye
away
the
stone.
Martha,
the
sister
of
him
that
was
dead,
saith
unto
him
.
"Lord,
by
this
time
he
stinketh:
for
he
hath
been
dead
four
days"
Was
she
afraid?
Where
was
her
faith?
She,
along
with
the
others,
had
insinuated
that
HE
had
let
Lazarus
die.
And,
now,
they
are
fearful
that
Lazarus
would
come
forth
in
a
body
that
was
in
the
process
of
decomposition.
Well,
it
shall
not
be
a
zombie
that
comes
forth!
John
11:
40
Jesus
saith
unto
her,
Said
I
not
unto
thee,
that,
if
thou
wouldest
believe,
thou
shouldest
see
the
glory
of
God?
Do
we
believe?
Where
is
our
"faith"?
Where
is
the
"trust"
to
know
that
with
GOD
(YHVH),
Our
FATHER,
all
things
are
possible,
according
to
HIS
Will
and
HOLY
Plan.
"And
I
knew
that
thou
hearest
me
always"
"because
of
the
people
which
stand
by
I
said
it,
that
they
may
believe
that
thou
hast
sent
me"
YAHSHUA
"knew".
Yet,
the
people
could
not
even
have
"faith",
much
less
"trust".
John
11:
43
And
when
he
thus
had
spoken,
he
cried
with
a
loud
voice,
Lazarus,
come
forth.
This
was
originally
written
as:
"Lazarus,
come
forth!".
It
was
a
command!
John
11:
44
And
he
that
was
dead
came
forth,
bound
hand
and
foot
with
graveclothes:
and
his
face
was
bound
about
with
a
napkin.
Jesus
saith
unto
them,
Loose
him,
and
let
him
go.
"Loose
him,
and
let
him
go!"
John
11:
45
Then
many
of
the
Jews
which
came
to
Mary,
and
had
seen
the
things
which
Jesus
did,
believed
on
him.
"many"
"believed
on
him"
Did
Lazarus
"stinketh"?
No.
Was
he
brought
forth
in
a
corrupted
flesh
body?
No.
Acts
16:26
26
And
suddenly
there
was
a
great
earthquake,
so
that
the
foundations
of
the
prison
were
shaken:
and
immediately
all
the
doors
were
opened,
and
every
one's
bands
were
loosed.
(KJV)
Acts
2:22-27
22
Ye
men
of
Israel,
hear
these
words;
Jesus
of
Nazareth,
a
man
approved
of
God
among
you
by
miracles
and
wonders
and
signs,
which
God
did
by
him
in
the
midst
of
you,
as
ye
yourselves
also
know:
23
Him,
being
delivered
by
the
determinate
counsel
and
foreknowledge
of
God,
ye
have
taken,
and
by
wicked
hands
have
crucified
and
slain:
24
Whom
God
hath
raised
up,
having
loosed
the
pains
of
death:
because
it
was
not
possible
that
he
should
be
holden
of
it.
25
For
David
speaketh
concerning
him,
I
foresaw
the
Lord
always
before
my
face,
for
he
is
on
my
right
hand,
that
I
should
not
be
moved:
26
Therefore
did
my
heart
rejoice,
and
my
tongue
was
glad;
moreover
also
my
flesh
shall
rest
in
hope:
27
Because
thou
wilt
not
leave
my
soul
in
hell,
neither
wilt
thou
suffer
thine
Holy
One
to
see
corruption.
(KJV)
Lazarus
was
an
example
(ensample).
'Death'
and
'the
grave'
can
not
hold
the
spirit
and
soul
of
one
who
is
of
CHRIST.
Only
the
corruptible
flesh
(able
to
perish
earthly
flesh)
is
able
to
die.
1
Cor
15:50
50
Now
this
I
say,
brethren,
that
flesh
and
blood
cannot
inherit
the
kingdom
of
God;
neither
doth
corruption
inherit
incorruption.
(KJV)
The
earthly
"flesh
and
blood"
can
not
exist
in
the
dimension
of
Heaven.
Yet,
the
soul
and
it's
spirit
(mind,
intellect)
of
those
who
have
yet
to
overcome
death,
is
still
'able
to
die'.
Those
who
know
not,
believe
not,
and
trust
not
on
YAHSHUA,
JESUS
CHRIST,
have
corruptible
(liable,
able
to
die)
souls
and
spirits,
whether
they
are
residing
in
this
earthly
dimension
or
in
the
heavenly
dimension
(2nd
Heaven
age).
John
11:
46
But
some
of
them
went
their
ways
to
the
Pharisees,
and
told
them
what
things
Jesus
had
done.
47
Then
gathered
the
chief
priests
and
the
Pharisees
a
council,
and
said,
What
do
we?
for
this
man
doeth
many
miracles.
48
If
we
let
him
thus
alone,
all
men
will
believe
on
him:
and
the
Romans
shall
come
and
take
away
both
our
place
and
nation.
49
And
one
of
them,
named Caiaphas,
being
the
high
priest
that
same
year,
said
unto
them,
Ye
know
nothing
at
all,
50
Nor
consider
that
it
is
expedient
for
us,
that
one
man
should
die
for
the
people,
and
that
the
whole
nation
perish
not.
51
And
this
spake
he
not
of
himself:
but
being
high
priest
that
year,
he
prophesied
that
Jesus
should
die
for
that
nation;
52
And
not
for
that
nation
only,
but
that
also
he
should
gather
together
in
one
the
children
of
God
that
were
scattered
abroad.
53
Then
from
that
day
forth
they
took
counsel
together
for
to
put
him
to
death.
54
Jesus
therefore
walked
no
more
openly
among
the
Jews;
but
went
thence
unto
a
country
near
to
the
wilderness,
into
a
city
called
Ephraim,
and
there
continued
with
his
disciples.
55
And
the
Jews'
passover
was
nigh
at
hand:
and
many
went
out
of
the
country
up
to
Jerusalem
before
the passover,
to
purify
themselves.
56
Then
sought
they
for
Jesus,
and
spake
among
themselves,
as
they
stood
in
the
temple,
What
think
ye,
that
he
will
not
come
to
the
feast?
57
Now
both
the
chief
priests
and
the
Pharisees
had
given
a
commandment,
that,
if
any
man
knew
where
he
were,
he
should
shew
it,
that
they
might
take
